GERSHWIN Rhapsody in Blue
RESPIGHI Pines of Rome
A concert of centenaries, Gershwin’s favourite Rhapsody in Blue is the highlight, performed by renowned soloist Tom Poster.
Guest conductor Jonathan Lo leads the Bardi for this concert, bringing his wealth of experience as Music Director of the Australian Ballet and work with the Royal Ballet as well as the BBC Philharmonic and London Sinfonietta in this country.
The concert also features centenary performances of Sibelius’ breathtaking Symphony No.7 and Respighi’s rousing Pines of Rome as its finale. Just four years in advance of its centenary, Ravel’s ever-popular Bolero completes this varied concert.
