Christmas in Leicester

Christmas in Leicester

Christmas in Leicester promises the most magical of experiences this year with an exciting Festive Adventure trail, celebrating the best the city has to offer!

The Jubilee Square Ice Rink will be back from Thursday 2 December 2021 – Monday 3 January 2022 and your can book your session now. No need to worry about the weather – come rain or shine you can glide gracefully under the clear roof.

A 22m-high ‘Happy Wheel’ will illuminate Jubilee Square with its state-of-the-art LED lighting, creating a stunning light show while taking passengers for a spin above the square. The brand new Happy Wheel will be a feature of the square until the end of November, when it will be replaced by a more familiar festive attraction – the 35m-high Wheel of Light.

Billy Bates Fun Fair will be in Humberstone Gate for you to experience all the fun of the fair! In Orton Square, experience the bright world of Rhizome, a glowing series of tall structures, gentle colour changing neon ropes and accompanying soundscape by renowned visual artists Tom and Lien Dekyvere.

Every Saturday throughout the festive period Get in the festive mood than with a Christmas movie! To celebrate the opening of the The Snowman™ and The Snowdog exhibition at Newarke Houses we’re bringing the characters to our big screen in Green Dragon Square along with some other well known favourites.

Also in Green Dragon Square is our FREE Santa's Grotto. Children of all ages can visit Santa and his elf, and those on the nice list will also receive a wonderful free gift!

Add some extra sparkle to your festive season and enter our Christmas in Leicester prize giveaway for a chance to win one of over 40 prizes worth more than £3,500. We’ve teamed up with businesses around Leicester to make your Christmas extra special this year!
