Bradgate Park is the only remaining medieval deer park in Leicestershire.
For the long-term health of the herd, it is necessary to carry out a yearly cull. The resulting venison is available from freezers at the Deer Barn Cafe (open daily, 10am-4pm) in the heart of Bradgate Park and from the Visitor Centre (open every weekend, 11am-4pm).
