Bradgate Country Park

Bradgate Park

About

Bradgate Park

Bradgate Park, renowned for its fine herds of deer, is the only remaining enclosed medieval deer park in the East Midlands and contains the oldest rocks in England.

Did you know the park is also the birthplace and childhood home of the nine days 16th century Queen of England, Lady Jane Grey? Explore the ruins of her home - one of the earliest country houses built for royalty.

Enjoy the rich history and the enchanting beauty of almost untouched nature; marvel at oak trees that are over 500-years old in the medieval deer park, see Old John tower - one of Leicestershire's most famous landmarks at highest point of the park, be peaceful alongside the Leicestershire Yeomanry war memorial for the Boer War and World Wars 1 and 2, and walk alongside the beautiful stretch of water, waterfalls and pools of the River Lin.

Get a virtual tour here.

At the middle of the park, the park’s world-class Visitor Centre provides exhibitions to tell the story of Bradgate and its fascinating natural and human history. Eateries on site include the Deer Barn tea room.

The park is publicly accessible every day of the year using the public footpaths, cycle, bus 120 or personal car.
