Fitcation is all about taking a break with a difference and getting out and about in the open air. Staying active is massively important to our physical and mental health, and a short break full of activities will do loads to improve your quality of life.

We’ve grouped our active escapes into three categories, covering more adrenaline fuelled activities, family fun and sporting adventures.

Sporting escapes

Leicestershire has a reputation as a sporting city, with top professional sports teams and loads of opportunities to get involved in a whole range of different sports. With the Commonwealth Games coming to Birmingham this summer, it’s the perfect time to try a competitive sport like archery, shooting, cycling or canoeing. Choose how active you want to be with relaxing sports like fishing, get some steps in with a round of golf or get your heart pumping with mountain biking or cycling through the beautiful National Forest. There’s so much on offer in Leicestershire.
