About

How The Mind Heals The Body With Dr David Hamilton

In this incredible talk, you will learn all about the mind body connection and fascinating examples of how the placebo effect and belief can shift biology in the brain. Dr David Hamilton will also discuss meditation, how different types can produce different effects and how positive feelings can impact the immune system and shape brain circuitry!

The brain does not always distinguish between real and imaginary, and people globally have used visualisation strategies to help facilitate their recoveries from injury and illness. Dr Hamilton will teach you the simple processes involved so you can try these techniques and share them with others.

**Doors open at 7pm, talk starts at 7.30pm - come down early to grab a good seat!**

*After completing a PhD in organic chemistry, David worked in R&D in the pharmaceutical industry developing drugs for cardiovascular disease and cancer. Inspired by the placebo effect and how some people's condition improved because they believed a placebo was a real drug, he left the industry to write and educate people on how to best harness their mind and emotions to improve their health and wellbeing. He is now a bestselling author of 11 books, including the Amazon bestseller, 'The Five Side Effects of Kindness'. He is a magazine columnist, a frequent podcast guest, and has been featured on Channel 4's Sunday Brunch Live.*
