We’re passionate about sport in Leicester – in fact, we were recently labelled the UK’s Greatest Sporting City for 2016!

Take a tour of the King Power stadium, home of 2016 Premier League champions Leicester City, watch top-flight rugby at Welford Road – home of the Leicester Tigers – or visit Leicester’s newest sporting arena, home to the Leicester Riders basketball team. There’s also cricket, speedway and racing – and you can even watch elite cyclists in the Leicester Castle Classic each August.

Take time out to enjoy Leicester’s parks and open spaces. Try out our outdoor gyms or explore Leicester’s riverside, heading south from the city centre to enjoy the tranquillity of Aylestone Meadows, or north to discover gems like Abbey Park and the National Space Centre.

Leicester City Football Club

Leicester City Football Club, also known as the Foxes, is a professional football team based in the city. Founded in 1884 as Leicester Fosse, the club played in their historic home Filbert Street for 111 years before moving to the King Power Stadium in 2002.

Leicester Tigers

Home to the formidable Leicester Tigers, Welford Road Stadium has been hosting rugby matches since 1892. The 26,000 capacity venue is home to one of the best atmospheres in English rugby.

Bradgate Park

The Estate, Tearooms and Car Parks are open and will remain open during November 5th - 2nd December lockdown. Please note the Visitor Centre has not re-opened and remains closed until further notice. The Deer Barn and Conservatory Tearooms are offering a limited Take Away service, 10am-4pm, with our Conservatory Tearoom only open at weekends. The Shop be closed in lockdown.
