If you're in Leicester, then Town Hall Square is the place to be for a magical encounter with Santa.

Grotto Location and Dates

The enchanting grotto is nestled in the heart of Town Hall Square. It's the perfect setting for families to come together and create lasting memories during the festive season. The magic continues until Saturday, 23rd December 2023.

Visiting Hours

To ensure that everyone has a chance to meet Santa and his cheerful Elf, the grotto has specific opening hours. Please take note of the following schedule, keeping in mind that Santa and his Elf will need short breaks, leading to the closure of queues during these times:

• Monday to Friday: 12noon – 2pm & 3pm – 6pm
• Saturday: 11am – 2pm & 3pm – 6pm
• Sunday: 11am – 1pm & 2pm – 4pm

Our Magical Grotto is FREE

One of the most wonderful aspects of Santa in the Square is that it is entirely free to visit. There is no admission fee, allowing families to revel in the festive spirit without any financial burden.

To add to the joy, every child who visits Santa in the Square will receive a free gift, making the experience even more special and memorable.

No Advance Booking Required

Unlike some holiday attractions, visits to Santa and his Elf are not bookable in advance. Simply arrive, join the queue, and immerse yourself in the festive atmosphere. Just check the timings on the queue to make sure you have enough time.

Queue Management and Santa Assurance

To ensure a smooth and delightful experience for all, queues will be managed diligently. They may be closed in advance of the grotto's closing time or during Santa and Elf breaks. Rest assured, those waiting will be notified and may be asked to return at a more convenient time.

Accompanied by an Adult

For the safety and enjoyment of all, children visiting Santa must be accompanied by an adult both in the queue and within the grotto itself. This ensures a magical experience for the entire family.

Accessible to All

The grotto is designed to be accessible to everyone during all opening times. If any additional support is needed, the friendly staff is on hand to assist upon arrival. Wheelchair access is available via a ramp, with a door width of 32 inches.

Pushchair Convenience

While pushchairs are permitted, it is preferred that they are not brought into the grotto. There will be designated areas outside where pushchairs can be safely left, allowing for a more enjoyable experience inside.
