The Easter Holidays are nearly here and you’re bound to be looking for some great things to do. We have loads of great ideas, and we’ve covered some of them in recent articles! Oh help! Oh no! It’s a Gruffalo!

Julia Donaldson’s much-loved monster comes to Leicestershire this easter, as Twcross Zoo have just launched Gruffalo Land, a new attraction which features some great shows, photo opportunities with the characters, the Gruffalo goodies shop, Real-life creatures and much more! The perfect place to explore with your little ones!

Then from 20 April, join the Mouse on his daring adventure as the stage production of The Gruffalo hits Curve! The show that has toured the world features songs, laughs and monstrous fun for kids and their grown-ups.

Follow the trail to the Castle

When you head to Belvoir Castle over Easter, there’s a chance to follow the activity trail around the formal gardens, solving puzzles along the way and bumping into the Easter bunny and his friends along the way. Ramble among the sensational spring blooms and each child can collect an easter egg prize at the end of their visit. Plus, the Belvoir Engine Yard retail village will be celebrating Easter Weekend with a Pop-up Market. Get fresh flowers, foodie delights, gifts and crafts on the 16th & 17th April!

 Rockingham Castle will also be hosting a kids’ Easter Trail, explore the Gardens to seek out their Kings & Queens clues, and collect a free Easter Egg once you’ve finished. And keep an eye out for Billy The Bunny, who will be roaming around the gardens, make sure to say hello!

Get creative in the city

With special Easter Events at our city museums and attractions! The KRIII is holding their Easter Eggstravaganza with egg painting and games going on throughout the holidays. The Guildhall will also give you the chance to celebrate a Magical Springtime. Kids can make their own Unicorn hat, a sparkling wishing wand and a magical scratch art picture!

Belgrave Hall is hosting a Bunny Hop Fun Day on 13 April in their beautiful gardens! Have fun in the woods & gardens, bring a picnic, and wear your best Easter bonnet or Bunny ears. There will be craft activities, a garden trail and games! Book now at the Museums website! Newarke Houses Museum are also holding a fun filled day of bunny themed arts and crafts, Easter trails and spring storytelling on the 11 April

Back into history at Bosworth

Bosworth Battlefield are inviting you to step back in time this Easter as they host a Knight school on 14 April! Don your armour, pull down your visor and learn to fight like a knight with Sir John of Bosworth. Then on 17th & 18th April join The Garrison’s Living History Weekend and learn what it was like to be part of a medieval battlefield camp!

Celebrate St George

Leicester’s annual St George’s Day Festival is the perfect way to round off half term. Enjoy music, dance, crafts and entertainment with fun activities and workshops across the Cultural Quarter. There’ll be an adventurous dragon hunt trail, medieval games, and maypole dancing. Enjoy storytelling and puppet shows, arts, crafts, balloon animals and circus skills.
