Things to do in Leicester & Leicestershire this Halloween
Like everything else this year, Halloween is going to look slightly different this year as we continue to adapt to the ‘new normal’. Although we can’t enjoy the usual shenanigans that come with Halloween there are still plenty of ways to enjoy the spooky season with your family safely. It’s the perfect opportunity to discover local attractions right on your doorstop. Here are a few Spooktacular ways you and the family can still have some fun at Halloween
Pumpkin picking
Enjoy a day out pumpkin picking at Cattows Farm with over 170,000 plump pumpkins to choose from. You’ll find different varieties including warty Goosebump pumpkins, white varieties called snowman, snowball and ghost and the ever-popular mini munchkins. All you have to do is pick your pumpkin, take them to the shop and pay.
Not for the faint hearted
This is an event not to be missed but be warned its not for the faint hearted. The Xtreme Scream Park is an adult only event hosted by Twinlakes and voted the UK’s official number 1 Scare Park by Scarelon. There are 5 fun haunted houses including Ash Hell Penitentiary, Hoo Doo Voo Doo and new for 2020 is Belvoir Manners. Dare to visit?
Something for the kiddies
Here’s something for the kiddies… Twycross Zoo and Boo at the Zoo. As you wander the 100-acre zoo, look out for the cheeky singing pumpkins belting out Halloween classics. Broomsticks at the ready for some flying lessons with the wicked witch (all socially distanced of course). Before you escape the clutches of the witches and ghouls count the creepy crawlies as you make your through the perilous pet cemetery on the trick or treat trail for a chance to win something sweet! Something a little less scary and a chance for kiddies to visit a spooky maze over at Manor Farm Park & Woodlands. Visit in fancy dress, enjoy a Halloween trail and pick a perfect pumpkin. Weird but wonderful
Step into the weird and wonderful Halloween World with 3 massive scare mazes with varying ranges of scariness from extreme scare to family friendly. Alongside the maze you can enjoy fairground rides, ghost trains, carnival stalls, food, drink an more. Tickets are limited and selling fast so make sure to book as soon as possible. All mazes are outdoors so make sure you dress accordingly!
Haunted hall and spooky trails
Follow the free spooky trail around the haunted Leicester Guildhall and for only £3 pick up a Halloween craft you can take home. Create your own broomstick pencil, Halloween skittles bowling game, wizard school stained glass window. Spooky water adventures
Looking for a different kind of Halloween experience? Join Let’s Get Lost Leicester on a spooky adventure on Saturday 31 October. Dress up, paint your faces, free goody bags and exploration on the Soar for a spooky adventure. The best dressed wins a free adventure for 2021. Who knows you might even spot a ghost or two!
Go Conkers
Everyday from 17 October-1 November you and the kids can enjoy plenty of ghoulish Halloween activties at Conkers. The line up includes Daily Halloween Crafts, Hallowen Paint a Pot, Scavenger Hunts and even a Halloween Themed Film at The Cinema, plus much more!
