There are few greater pleasures in life than authentic, artisan gelato. And now, thanks to Gelato Village, you don’t have to jet off to Italy to get your fix.
They make traditional gelato from seasonal ingredients right here in the heart of Leicester. If you’re vegan or follow a dairy free diet, you’ll be delighted with the variety of sorbetto and other animal-product free delights on offer.
Founded in 2014 by Antonio De Vecchi and Daniele Taverna, Gelato Village takes time to source the finest ingredients possible, to give their gelato its extra special taste. All of the milk and cream they use comes from a single herd of rare breed Leicestershire cows, which makes their gelato totally unique.
Look through the windows into the Gelato Laboratory to see the gelato being made fresh each day, as well as a selection of Italian cakes and pastries using the same quality ingredients. Their rich, thick hot chocolate has also earned a well deserved reputation amongst locals because of the intense flavour.
Uniquely in the city, Gelato Village also make their waffles from scratch, using a recipe they created themselves. Just like their gelato, there isn’t an artificial flavouring, colouring or preservative in sight.
