At the heart of Leicester city centre lies the famous Clock Tower – once the centrepiece of a roundabout and now an iconic feature in the city’s main streets, Leicester’s retail offering spreads out in all directions from this well-loved local landmark.
Leading away from the Clock Tower you will find High Street, Humberstone Gate and Gallowtree Gate, which among them have an array of big name stores – from New Look and H&M to Marks & Spencer, Boots and Primark.
At the top of High Street you’ll find Jubilee Square – this beautiful open space has great historical significance to the city: it was the site of the Roman forum as well as the medieval marketplace. It is the perfect spot to rest your feet during after grabbing your fashion fix!
Close by in Highcross street is the relaxed atmosphere of Cosy Club, which, along with the Orange Tree and Queen of Bradgate on the High street, are great stops for food and drinks.
If you want your tots to look trendy, then designer childrenswear from Jellyrolls will get them noticed – stocking names including Armani Junior, Ralph Lauren, DKNY and Levis. But if its toys you need, the look no further than Toytown, with loads to choose from to keep the little ones happy.
High-end jeweller, Lumbers, moved to the High Street in 2015. Their shop includes a retail area as well as a VIP section with a kitchen, champagne bar and entertainment, making it one of the top places to visit if you’re looking for something extra special on your shopping trip.
Gallowtree Gate also boasts a large range of shops including Dorothy Perkins, H Samuel, Lush and many more.
