This workshop will introduce you to mokuhanga, traditional Japanese woodblock printmaking. This technique is widely known by the artworks of 18th-19th Century Japanese artists such as Hiroshige and Hokusai. You will see a glimpse into the process that made their prints! You will chisel the woodblock with Japanese tools, experience the unique way of printing with water-based inks using traditional inking brushes onto delicate Japanese paper.
Please note that the cutting process will require some physical strength in your hands.
