About

Popping to the Shops

Popping to the Shops consists of two exhibitions displayed at Newarke Houses and Westcotes Library.

It is an exciting project dedicated to the people of the Narborough Road. It aims to tell their stories of living and working in the area.

The exhibition at Newarke Houses features the people of the Narborough Road. It offers the opportunity to learn more about their experiences and memories of the road. A number of new objects have also been collected, from the shops, and are be displayed in the exhibition.

At Westcotes Library is a photography exhibition. The photographs show vintage views of the road alongside new photos of how it appears today. A local photographer has worked with the people and museum team to produce the new photographs for the exhibition.

Popping to the Shops is a celebration of one of the most ethically diverse roads in the country.
