Leicester City Council is strongly committed to safeguarding your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains our policy for the collection and use of information about you and your transactions with us.

We do not capture and store any personal information about website visitors, except where you voluntarily choose to give us your personal details via email, or by using an electronic form, or enquiring about any of our services.

We may process information that you provide to us for the purpose of visitor registration, brochure requests, e-newsletter subscriptions and competition entry. We will only use your personal information to administer your account and to provide the products and services you have requested from us
E-newsletters - by completing our e-newsletter signup page you are agreeing to receive email marketing communications. These can be unsubscribed from at any time, simply by clicking the unsubscribe link at the bottom of the email.
Brochure requests - by completing our Brochure Request form you are agreeing to receive brochures from us in either electronic or printed format.
Visitor Registration - by completing our Visitor Registration page you are agreeing to your itinerary preferences to be saved for you to access, and this information may be associated with the details we hold about you.
Competitions - please check the individual terms and conditions associated with each competition. By entering our competitions and completing our entry forms you are agreeing to your data being processed in line with competition terms and conditions.
Event submission – if you or your organisation submits an event to be published on the Visit Leicester What’s On calendar, you are agreeing for your organisation’s contact details to be published publicly on the Visit Leicester website so that customers are able to contact you about the event. The individual submitting the event is agreeing for their contact details to be held securely in the Visit Leicester database and may be contacted by website administrators regarding their event submission.
Visit Leicester does not sell, rent or lease its customer lists to third parties. Visit Leicester may, from time to time, contact you on behalf of external business partners about a particular offering that may be of interest to you. In such an instance, your unique personally identifiable information (e-mail, name, address, telephone number) is not transferred to the third party.
The legal basis for this processing is consent.

2.2.1 Social Media
If you use any of our social network pages or applications or you use one of our products or services that allow interaction with social networks, we may receive information relating to your social network accounts. For instance:
If you click on a ‘like’ or ‘tweet’ or similar, we may record the fact that you have done so. We may receive information about further interactions with this posted content (for example, if your contacts click on a link in the posted content), which we may associate with the details that we store about you.
If you ‘like’ or similar one of our pages on a social network site, we may receive information about your social network profile, depending on your social network account privacy settings.

2.2.2 Reviews, comments and content
Where you have uploaded comments or content to our website and made them publicly visible, we may link to, publish or publicise these materials elsewhere including in our own promotional campaigns.
The legal basis for processing in 2.2.1 and 2.2.2 is legitimate interest.
2.3 Legal Obligation
In addition to the specific purposes for which we may process your personal data set out in this section, we may also process any of your personal data where such processing is necessary for compliance with regulatory and legal obligation to which we are subject, or in order to protect your vital interests or the vital interests of another person.
We will only use your personal information to administer your account and to provide the products and services you have requested from us.
