St Margaret's Bus Station

Travelling by Coach Into Leicester

St. Margaret’s Bus Station is a few minutes walk to the shops and Highcross Leicester. National Express offer national coach services to Leicester. London to Leicester takes just under three hours.
Ashby de la Zouch, Coalville, Kegworth, Market Harborough, Loughborough and East Midlands Airport are also served by National Express.

Travelling by Bicycle Into Leicester

Cyclists are welcome into Leicester City Centre, which is less than a 30-minute cycle ride from anywhere in Leicester.

There are signed National Cycle Network Routes to and from the city centre. Follow NCN 6 routes from North & South. Follow NCN 63 from East & West.

Cycle racks are provided on most city centre streets, within Highcross Leicester and the Cultural Quarter.

High security cycle parking, toilets, showers and lockers are available at the Town Hall. Free bike maps for Leicester and Leicestershire are available at all good bike shops, Visit Leicester Centre, libraries and sports centres. For more information, see:

Parking in the city

Travelling by Car and Motorbike Into Leicester

Getting into the city couldn’t be easier, with over 8,500 parking spaces available in the city centre (maps at the bottom of the page show you where car parks are located), and 1,500 additional car parking spaces available at the Park & Rides. Free motorcycle parking is also available on Horsefair Street and Bowling Green Street in the city centre and in the following car parks: Newarke Street, Granville Road and Victoria Park.

The M1, Junction 21, or 22, provide good access to Leicester city centre. The M69 and M6 also offer easy access from Birmingham, Wales and the Southwest.

Follow the car park zone signs to find a space at one of the city’s many car parks - the maps at the bottom of the page show you where the car parks are located;

All of the multi-storey car parks in the city centre are extremely well sign-posted and have up-to-date real-time availability clearly shown, so if your first choice is full, carry on to the next car park with spaces.

Shopmobility and Disabled Persons' Travel

Shopmobility is a FREE loan service providing scooters, powerchairs and wheelchairs, available to anyone who struggles to walk around the city centre.

You will need to join to use the service, membership is free - please telephone:  0116 253 2596 for details.

Whether you are visiting for heritage, shopping or culture, there will be a stop for you.
