A month-long celebration of walking and its benefits for health, happiness and the environment, through a series of free walks.
The aim is to inspire and motivate people to lead a more active lifestyle through walking, creating a positive impact on mental wellbeing, social connections, and community spirit. It is also a great opportunity to promote active travel and encourage people to choose more sustainable modes of transport, helping to reduce our carbon footprint and improve air quality in the city.
All walks are free and pre-booking may be required. For more details on these events and more, please visit choosehowyoumove.co.uk/walkleicester
People are encouraged to share their walking experiences via the Choose How You Move Facebook and Twitter using the #WalkLeicester hastag. Tell us about your favourite Leicester walk for a new walking guide set for release summer 2018. Your walk can be beyond the city boundary, but must be easy to reach from the city centre. Visit leicester.gov.uk/walking for more information.
