Red curtain at a performance theatre

The Phantom of the Opera

About

The Phantom of the Opera

Presented by LAOS

First performed in 1986, at Her Majesty's Theatre in London, The Phantom of the Opera has played to over 140 million people in 33 countries, in 166 cities around the world. The show has won over 70 major theatre awards - Oliviers, Tonys, Drama Desk Awards and Outer Critic Circle Awards.

The show is based on a 1910 novel by Gaston Leroux, and tells the story of a disfigured musical genius who haunts the Paris Opera House. Obsessed by the talent and beauty of young soprano Christine, the Phantom trains her as his protégé for success, whilst falling fiercely in love with her.

The music and beauty of Phantom have kept this show in the West End for nearly 30 years, we cannot wait to have Loughborough Town Hall stage sing with The Music of the Night.
