About

The 1000 Years Show

A brand new Leicester and Leicestershire themed show - the 1000 Years Shows brings together Songs, History and Comedy

The song Kings and Queens is the foundations stone of the whole project and, like all other songs, was written by comedian and songwriter Anthony King. One of the first shows centred around Richard III in a bite-sized, 20 minute performance played on the hour throughout the day at Leicester Guildhall during the Richard III re-interment.

Shows are centred around one aspect of history in a 1000 year timeline, but it's not only history, shows can also cover current and future events because the timeline is 1066 to 2066.

"Whilst parallels may be drawn with Horrible Histories, King deserves something more" - British Theatre Guide
"Mixing music and mirth and getting a very nice balance between the two... his skill with the guitar and his remarkable voice" - Notts Comedy Review
Tune in to listen to Anthony on BBC Radio Leicester's History programme July 22, Aug 12 and Sept 16th.

No ticket price, but donations encouraged – drop-in only
