St George's Virtual Festival

St George's Virtual Festival

Leicester’s annual St. George’s Festival is one of the highlights of the city’s calendar of cultural events. However, as coronavirus restrictions continue to prevent people from meeting in large groups, crowds will not be able to gather in the Cultural Quarter for the traditional entertainment and merriment.

Instead people are invited to take part in the city’s first virtual celebration of St. George from the comfort and safety of home.

Hosted by our very own compere St. George, the on-line festival will feature appearances from Sylvesta the Jester from Leicester, Bill Brookman and friends, Giggle Town Arts and folk band Looma.

Enjoy an afternoon of storytelling, music, arts and crafts, puppet show and more which have been specially filmed for this event.

Watch the virtual event on Youtube Here

You can also print out some activities and craft sessions from Focus - inlcuding their Spiral Dragon Print Out, St George's Quizzes and Answer Sheet . You can also take a look at their Tastes through Time, and learn how people made gingerbread, apple fritters and bread in medieval times. Take a look on Youtube Here!
