Richard III on Stage and Screen

About

Richard III on Stage and Screen

Richard III has attracted creative minds ever since his death in 1485; on screen and on the stage, the part has provided an opportunity not only for star actors but also some of the most inventive directors.

We now also recognise that the female parts are complex creations too and help contribute to our verdicts on the monarch.

This illustrated lecture will show how the play has been adapted in a number of challenging and radical ways for screen as well as stage. A talk by the Leicester Literary and Philosophical Society.

Free event, contact the museum on 0116 225 4920 to pre-book your place.

Event to complement the Richard III portrait on loan from National Portrait Gallery now on display at the museum.
