Leicester Textiles Festival

This September will see the launch of an exciting new event when The Leicester Textiles Festival transforms the city into a buzzing and engaging hive of activity, full of colourful textile street art and decoration throughout the streets. Throughout the event, people will discover a variety of exciting textile events, including The Textiles Trail, Textiles Open, and the return of The Textiles Takeover with clothes and textiles swaps, free skill shares, and fun and inspiring activities led by local creatives.

The Textiles Trail will guide audiences around Leicester connecting the Community Yarnbomb sites at Jubilee Square and The Circle, locations of the textiles hanging baskets for Leicester Look Up, and The Big Wrap at Orton Square. Points of exhibition for the Textiles Open will also be included.
FESTIVAL ETHOS - The festival is about promoting all forms of textiles art with a particular focus on the positive impact it can have on people's wellbeing. There is also a strong emphasis on sustainability with the majority of material being used coming from repurposed sources to reduce textiles ending up in landfill.
