Get your skates on and come down to Jubilee Square for some festive fun on ice – real ice!

From 9 December to 8 January a huge ice rink – with real ice – is coming to the centre of Leicester, and whether you fancy yourself a professional or are more like Bambi on ice, this Christmas is the perfect time to give skating a whirl. 

No need to worry about the weather – come rain or shine you can glide happily under a clear roof, looking up at the Christmas Wheel of Light.

Skate hire and a 45-minute session on the ice will cost £8 for adults and £6.50 for children/concessions at off-peak times (11am-4pm Monday to Friday, excluding Bank Holidays). Tickets for all other times will cost £9 for adults and £7.50 for children/concessions. Scroll down to see opening times.

Feeling a bit wobbly? Skating aids will be available for younger skaters to hire, making the ice rink great fun and safe for all the family. 

Special theme nights will add to fun every Tuesday and Thursday night before Christmas from 6pm – 8pm. Themes will follow as;

Christmas Jumper Nights - Tuesday 12 and Thursday  21 December

Santa on Ice –  Thursday 14 December

Christmas Disco – Tuesday 19 December

Bring your friends, your family, neighbours – the more the merrier, especially as groups of four or more people will save 10% on standard prices, with a 15% discount available to groups of 11 or more people. 

The 30m x 15m rink will also be available to hire for Christmas parties, with prices available on request.

Advance tickets are available to purchase online through our event ticketing partner, De Montfort Hall, by clicking the "visit website" button in the Key Information section below. You can also get tickets in-person at the Visit Leicester Information Centre.

Walk up tickets can be bought at an Ice Rink box office which will be located at BBC Radio Leicester in Jubilee Square.  The Box Office will be open from Saturday 9 December to Monday 8 January. Cash and card payments will be accepted however the box office cannot take contactless payments.

* Each skate session begins on the hour - you will have 45 minutes on the ice. Please arrive at least 30 minutes before your skate session to allow time to change into your boots.
