The lecture aims to understand the causes and consequences of the Hindu-Muslim disturbances in Leicester in 2022 and reflect on how these tensions highlight the challenges of managing transnationalism and social superdiversity.
Prof Gurharpal Singh is Emeritus Professor of Sikh and Punjab Studies at Soas, University of London. He has lived in Leicester since 1964 and specialises on modern South Asian politics, the South Asian diasporas, and multiculturalism.
