Basin Street Brawlers

About

Basin Street Brawlers

The Basin Street Brawlers are acclaimed as 'London's top hot jazz ensemble' (visitlondon.com).

Since their inception in 2014, this band of 'world class' (BBC) musicians have gone about bringing to you the most beautiful melodies and raucous rags of the 1920s and 1930s.

You'll find them stomping the spirituals and swinging the hymns up and down the country, with a new recording on the way for release in 2019. The band also continue to indulge their passion for reworking gems from the history of jazz, most recently developing songs first made famous by the legendary trumpet player and jazz pioneer of the 1930s, Henry 'Red' Allen. Committed to breathing new life into these masterworks, the Brawlers are reinvigorating the beautiful songs of the 1920s and 1930s with all the dynamic energy that they truly deserve.

This world class jazz ensemble, comprising of London's finest professional jazz musicians, make regular appearances at the UK's most prestigious venues, festivals and on national radio.

We are very much looking forward to the Basin Street Brawlers coming to Leicester Cathedral as part of their UK tour.
