See & Do > Leicestershire Dolly Rockit Rollers
First time hearing about Roller Derby? Roller derby is a fun, fast-paced, full contact (don’t worry you have protection) sport played on quad roller skates. Come and give it a go!
Dolly Rockit Rollers are a roller derby team based in Leicestershire and part of the ‘Women’s Flat Track Derby Association’ (WFTDA).
Being part of this association, the Dolly’s get to travel the globe, taking on teams that are of similar ranking.
Our training days are Thursday and Sunday, with the occasional Tuesday (usually works out every other week). We train at Parklands Leisure Centre in Oadby and Moat Community College in Leicester.
There are currently two teams:
A-Team: All-Stars
B-Team: Rockin Rockets
They run popular special taster sessions for anyone who want to give this sport a go. First session is free and kit is supplied. If you decide you would like to join the dollies, you will then be put on our Space Cadet Programme where they train you up to join either the A or B team.
You don’t just have to play the sport to get involved. You can also train to become a referee or game day official e.g. score keeper, line up tracker etc.
It's a fantastc way to get fit, have fun, try something new, make new friends, and be part of an amazing community
