The Victorian splendour of Leicester Museum & Art Gallery offers a wonderful venue for your upcoming meeting, event or celebration, and is fully accessible with a visitor car park and just a few minutes walk from Leicester Train Station. Your guests will enter from the picturesque, pedestrianised New Walk, and wander through galleries and event spaces full of objects from our internationally recognised Art and Natural History collections – perfect for that next inspirational launch or training event you are planning.
Our grand Victorian Gallery with its stage and modern AV system is ideal for presentations and lectures for up to 200 people. A Steinway grand piano is also available for hire, with the gold framed Art collection providing a stunning backdrop for musical performances.
The popular Dinosaur Gallery can host up to 120 people, great for receptions as your guests gather underneath the mighty 15 metre long Rutland Dinosaur. For a more intimate experience our Expressionism Gallery is also equipped with a modern AV system and can hold up to 60 people for events; surrounded by Leicester’s renowned collection of German Artwork.
Our private hire spaces include the elegant Lord Mayor’s Suite that can be set up to accommodate up to 80 or as few as 8 people, and the Council Room with basic self catering facilities makes an ideal space for children’s parties and creative workshops.
Leicester Museum & Art Gallery is also available to hire for civil wedding ceremonies where you can take your vows in the breath-taking Victorian and Dinosaur Galleries. The Lord Mayor’s Suite is also available for ceremonies and drinks receptions, where you can toast your bond with family and friends. The museum’s impressive entrance with it’s spiral staircase, and the attractive Museum Square and historic New Walk all provide stunning settings for your wedding photographs.
The on-site Museum Cafe offers a range of hospitality menus for wedding and general venue hire bookings, and we also have basic facilities for external caterers to use as a catering base.
