What's On this October Half-Term?

Are you ready for some half-term fun? If you’ll be spending a week with the kids, you’ll no doubt be looking for safe, exciting and not-too-costly things to do in Leicester and Leicestershire. Here are one or two ideas…

Climb Time

If you’re looking for a way to get the kids up and active, it doesn't get better than Leicester’s favourite climbing centre - Social Climbing. Over 700m² of climb-able surface, with difficulties varying from leisurely to extreme. It’s recommended that any adults first have a go at their 'Introduction to climbing' classes, but kids are welcome to start scaling straight away! It’s sure to be busy, so make sure you book now to reserve a slot.

Story Time

“A good story can take you all around the world without even leaving your room” - That’s being put to the test at the Curve Theatre’s online re-telling of The Snail and the Whale. This live-streamed version of the much loved Julia Donaldson and Axel Scheffler book will transport you alongside an adventurous young girl and her seafaring father, as they reimagine a tiny snail’s incredible trip around the world on the tail of a humpback whale.

Free Museums

There’s plenty going on at Leicester’s museums over the half-term break. The immensely popular Brick City at Leicester Museum & Art Gallery is a celebration of iconic buildings from cities around the world, carefully recreated in LEGO® bricks - so you can take a tour and discover cities across the world. Abbey Pumping Station are also hosting their Railway Day, with tickets only 50p per person! Make sure you take a look at the Leicester Museums Website for all of their upcoming events.

A King's History

For those of you wanting an exciting way to swot up on your history, the multiple award-winning Bosworth Battlefield & Heritage Centre is reopening from the 10th of October. It’s one of Leicestershire’s best attractions, and visitors of all ages will find something to enjoy - from interactive hands-on displays to outdoor activities. It’s another popular one, so make sure you get booked in

Jump Around

The recently reopened Boost Trampoline Park is a firm favourite amongst families. Their school holiday club runs throughout the half-term break, where there’ll be plenty of supervised activities that keep kids busy, engaged and active! Since it’s toward the end of the month, there will be lots of fantastic Halloween themed activities as well. Don’t miss out! Book now

Don't Be Afraid

Speaking of halloween, Twinlakes Xtreme Scream Park is back again over the half-term holiday. It was voted as the winner of the ‘Best Scream Park’ awards, so you know it’s gonna be good! Come along, laugh your head off and enjoy some scary entertainment - we promise you won’t regret it!

Safety is everyone’s priority so remember to follow government guidelines at all times to keep yourself and other visitors safe!
