Back to Basics

With time on our hands why not get involved with Graffwerks ‘Bring the Pens’ where a number of artists have come together to bring downloadable colouring sheets for bored and frustrated kids.  Artists including Brett Murphy, Street Scholar, Kontakt and many others. The colouring sheets are available to download from the Graffwerk website.


Twycross Zoo - Downloadable lesson plans

With schools across the country closed you're probably on the lookout for resources during term time. The award-winning Education Team at Twycross have put together a wide range of free resources for students which are available to download. The lesson plans are directly linked to the National Curriculum, so head over to Twycross Zoo website


Leicester Libraries - stories online

FREE online storytelling sessions will start from 8 April for younger and older children. Leicester Libraries will be posting 2 new stories every week via social media and the city council's own website. Stories to be published include The Three Billy Goats Gruff, The Little Ducks, Anansi and the Tiger plus many more. The stories will be posted online at the Leicester Libraries Facebook page, Twitter and on Leicester City Council’s YouTube channel


Lunch with the Landlord

We know you can't exactly take a stroll to your nearby pub... But the fantastic Aylestone Black-Horse is not letting the lockdown get them down! They are spreading a little hapiness and keeping the community entertained in these difficult times.

Alan and Sarah (the owners) have been busy organising and hosting virtual pub quizzes, supporting local comedians through virtual comedy shows, jam nights and a book club. And it’s not only their customers that are joining them, they are seeing people from all over the country joining them for a little bit of fun.They host 'Lunch with the Landlord' every Friday, and are even planning a virtual music festival.

14/48 Theatre

The 14/48 Theatre is the Leicester Satellite of the "The World's quickest theatre festival" in which 14 new plays are written, directed and performed within a 48 hour period. They are live streaming world premieres of various plays from their Facebook page. Live streams can be found at 14/48 Facebook page

Bali Love Jenkins

Love Jenkins has released FREE downloads for parents and kids to keep busy during lockdown. The current download is a Rainbow Butterfly coouring page for people to colour and displat in their windows in support for the NHS and key workers.

At a time like this it's more important than ever before to make sure you're getting your one daily dose of exercise. So whether its cycling, walking, running or anything else that get's your heart pumping make sure you do.

Bali has also created a handmade Rainbow Butterfly 3D piece of artwork and is selling Limited Edition prints on her website with all proceeds going to the NHS and Homeless Charities in these difficult times.
