Step outside your door and let Homewalk take you on a walk with a difference this summer.

Via your smartphone, Homewalk will take you on a guided walk from your own front door to the heart of Leicester. Along the way, you’ll be invited to take photographs with your phone, helping you find hidden spots of beauty or see familiar streets and buildings in a new and different light.

If you don’t live within walking distance of Phoenix you can still start at home, and then head into town and complete the walk there.

Once you reach the end of your walk at Phoenix, you can see the collection of photos you took along the route played back on a giant screen, where it will join all the other walks that families have taken during the summer.

Homewalk will be running daily from 12 – 5pm. To take part, all you have to do is go to the website www.phoenix.org.uk/homewalk on your smartphone. There’s no need to download an app. When you arrive at Phoenix you’ll be shown to our gallery space where you can share your walk.

Homewalk celebrates the creativity and perseverance of children, young people and families and the time we’ve all spent at home and discovering our neighbourhoods through walks over the past year, bringing it all into the heart of the city.

Homewalk is by digital art group MeYouandUs and has been commissioned by Phoenix Cinema and Art Centre in partnership with The Spark Arts for Children.

Homewalk is designed for families with children aged 16 and under. We recommend that an adult leads the walk.
