CAN YOU ADD TO THE ARCHIVE?

In the lead up to Desford Heritage Festival we have received many fabulous comments from people sharing memories of Desford days of old. Some mention relatives working locally at the Aerodrome during the war, working down the coal mine, village traditions, events, shops and Desford personalities. These connections are very exciting and the Desford History Society would like to add your stories to their collective archive of the village. Over the festival weekend (2-3 July) there will be a Big Red Post box situated at the Desford Museum (in the Village Hall on Lindridge Lne) to do just this. We invite members of the public with past connections to Desford to contribute to Desford.Stories. Do you have any family photos that show Desford from another era you would like to share with us? Please come and chat to society members over the festival weekend. Maybe you have a relative or someone in your neighbourhood who might like to share some memories of Desford days of old?
