Christmas Events 2014 banner




Throughout the whole of the Christmas period the city is decorated with lights and trees and Town Hall square is transformed into a winter wonderland, including a classic moving tableaux.  A magical hideaway in the city centre for children and adults alike featuring:- The 12 days of Christmas, Woodland Tales, Nativity Scene and Town Hall Square Lights.

The Sound of Music

Exclusively written and directed for us by Leicester’s Susie McKenna – Artistic Director at Hackney Empire – this show will be packed full of singing, laughter, silliness and a bit of romance – and all, of course, with a unique Lest-ah take on life. We are delighted to announce a fairytale line-up for this year’s spectacular family pantomime. CBeebies’ presenter Alex Winters appears as the loveable Buttons, Goodness Gracious Me’s Kulvinder Ghir stars as Baron Hardup, back following her hilarious role as Spirit of the Ring in last year’s panto Aladdin, Rina Fatania makes a welcome return as the Wicked Stepmother, whilst Tony Whittle dons a frock once more as one of the Ugly Sisters. This year's concerts Puer natus est have been very difficult to put together. There is so much excellent Christmas music that it is sometimes impossible to choose. So this year Musical Director Giles Turner didn't. You, the audience can choose when you arrive at the concert. Giles says ' With so many great pieces in the repertoire we thought that we'd ask our audience to choose some carols on the night, from a short list. That way we hope everyone will get the concert personally tailored for their desires'. So if you want to choose your own personal Christmas carol concert, book early and come along. Bolshoi Ballet’s The Nutcracker
